GREAT MOVIES - SCHEDULED POORLY

By Major Mike

The Star Trek Movies were awesome but scheduling them to start at 9pm with an hour break in between was a poor choice. The number of attendees would have easily been double had the movies started earlier and had a shorter break between the two.

First JJ Star Trek was amazing, game changing. I was so impressed and relieved at the infusion of fresh blood into the series. It had enough insider moments to please long term fans, but did not feel like a retread. On to the second JJ Star Trek. Complete opposite of the first. This movie was nearly a remake- let alone retread and had a definite throw in everything and the kitchen sink feel to it. There is a lot of action. The acting is great. There were suspenseful moments. There were surprising moments, but it just want very good. So, why am I giving it a Go rating. I don't know. It wasn't terrible, there is a good bit out there that is worse and the performances really were top rate. I was disappointed, but I can see how others would enjoy it as funnish summer fun.

Star Trek, The INTENSE Sequel

By ThePslust

Truly, truly, this sequel was intense, filled with action, and fine character development. Almost felt like Abrams thought he was doing his last Star Trek movie ever, and thus he had to get everything he could into this one or lose any chance of doing so later. Truly, what will Abrams do next time? Can there be a next time? What next? Loved the character interactions; loved the interaction between the two Spocks; and I loved the overall interaction with the audience. If someone wants to see a movie with ACTION, with THRILLS, and with SUSPENSE, then this is the one to see this summer.

Awesome second to the first movie. For those of us that remember the Wrath of Khan, the introduction of Khan in this way makes me wonder if we will see him again.

A Debacle from Start to Finish

In theory, the double feature looked like it would be a fun and unique viewing experience. I arrived at the theater two hours early (in costume, of course) expecting to jump in line for this "premier" event only to discover that there was no line as yet and that I was one of only 25 ticket holders. A mostly empty theater certainly took an edge off the thrill I had going into the experience. Then the 2009 film began...in 2D. The Double Feature was billed as a 3D event. Certainly less excitement and more frustration at this point. And yet, the kicker was yet to come. As you can see from the poster, Into Darkness was slated to begin at 12:01 am, and yet when my friends and I returned to the theater at 11:45, concessions in hand, the film had already started. Now I was mad. And utterly lost since we missed the first five minutes. Nothing about this evening was "as advertised." Bottom line, Fandango needs to get their Schtako together because the entire event was...(go to title).
