Last night's TNG event was a nightmare at the AMC Burbank 16. Scheduled to start at 7 with a runtime of 3 hours and 18 minutes. The evening consisted of two episodes (one extended), a blooper reel and a video featuring a cast reunion. Instead of starting at 7, the theater experienced delays because no one could figure out how to get the sound to work. It finally started around 8:10. Then an interminable slideshow began featuring still photos from several season 2 episodes and doing comparisons between the original NTSC version and the new HD edition. Then Fathom commercials started playing...and playing. Then "Q Who" plays and it's great. It's even in surround sound! Then the blooper reel. Midway through the next episode, everything shut down. After a few minutes of tinkering with the system, the episode comes back on but we have to re-watch five minutes we'd already seen. We got some free passes, but overall it was a disaster.

I loved this special feature! The best parts were the bloopers and bonus scenes in The Measure of a Man. I was so touched by the cast reunion, I teared up. I can't wait for the season 3 celebration!

The HD conversion and sound audio resampling really breathes new life into the series.
My only complaint is how the HD episodes looked in the theater. To be honest, I feel like my home projector could do a better job with the brightness and contrast. Both episodes looked way too dark in the theater. My recommendation- buy the Blue Rays!

STTNG Celebration of Season 2 was great! Wish we could see more TREKS (STTNG & TOS) on the big screen! The remastered stuff is awesome to watch! Let's have MORE!

While there are several advertisements for the first two seasons of TNG on Blu Ray, they have done a great job. The video looks great on the big screen and the surround sound audio is clear and immersive. One of the episodes that they showed, "Measure of a Man", had additional footage and it was great to see the added content. Most of the "specials" are very entertaining and give a great behind-the-scenes look at the show, without being too sappy. My friends and I went to both the season 1 and 2 viewings and were very satisfied with the experience. Overall, I'd recommend the next showing to all Star Trek fans.
