    No princess bride

this movie had some imagination to it, but in no way measured up to the Princess Bride. Didnt think it could going into it, but i heard great things from my friends. Theres some great scenes, especially with De Niro. I would rent this, but if you really want to see a romantic/fantasy movie then see it in theatres.

    Stardust full of stars

There was absolutely nothing about this movie that I didn't like. It kept me at the edge of my seat and when appropriate made me laugh hysterically. I've only read one of Neil Gaiman's books; this led me to believe that more of his books should be turned into films. In the purest sense, the movie was beyond excellent - never a dull moment. "Fantasy" movies in the future should take lesson from this. I may even go to see it a second time - and I have only done that with Harry Potter and Star Wars!

    Must see for Fantasy Fans

This is the sort of movie that I love to see but rarely comes about. As someone that grew up loving films like Legend, Labyrinth, Ladyhawke, and the Princess Bride I was excited about the premise and promise of this film from the first moment I heard about it. Now that fantasy is an acceptable genre to film again thanks to LotR and Harry Potter I know it won't be long before the market is flooded with poorly made films trying to cash in on the surge (Eragon). This however to me had all the elements necessary for a great tale that I feel lives up to its predecessors. I loved every aspect of the film, the story, the acting, the sets, the action. I felt as though the makers of the film as well the cast were truly passionate about it. I loved this movie and would recommend it to anyone that loves the fantasy film genre. Props to Neil Gaiman for creating this tale, you have inspired me to get to a comic store and buy your original graphic novel.

Deniro ---------what more do u want ladies?

    by Mgogue

He's one of those actors who can just make the movie - no Adonis certainly-- but much better because he's a living breathing although mostly untouchable man. He was pretty good in here to boot - as was his female counterpart - what's her name - anyway..........watch this one -- really cute

    Great Movie.

    by fnf0701

My husband and I took our 7 year old daughter to see Stardust and we all loved it. My daughter left hoping very much that she was indeed a star. Of course, the movie promoted her current feelings and her re-newed ideas of make believe. It was a great movie and everyone should go see it as soon as possible.

    Stardust

    by oldfox

My daughter and I just came back home from seeing this incredible film and we are all aglow! Stardust is right up there with some of my favorite films of all time including The Princess Bride, The Wizard of OZ, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Godfather and Chinatown. One of the best love stories ever filmed, the entire ensemble cast is quite superb and this advernture really pulls you in quickly for an unbeleivable ride! There are so many remarkable moments, that I will probably have to go back and see this one again before the DVD release. Movie making at its best, I predict Stardust will become a lasting movie classic.

    Dancing with the Star

When my 11 year old wants to go see a movie I read reviews and critiques to get an idea of suitability. The info. about this movie was mixed, but we took a chance and saw it. It was an enjoyable film with good enough acting. We'd see it again in a heartbeat.

I'd suggest critical reviewers read or reread classical Greek literature before calling any film derivative or any other film "original". Shakespeare might be eye-opening as well.

If you're looking for a film that provides an opportunity to get away from it all, this is one of those films.

    An Amazing Surprise

There are those movies that leave you wondering whether those last two hours would have been better spent dusting your furniture, and then there are those that leave you feeling those two Saturday afternoon hours couldn't have been better spent. I was simply looking for something to pass the time, and being a fantasy genre fan, I had heard about Stardust and decided to give it a try. It was an amazing surprise.

This film was well-knit and the characters were engaging. The frequent beautiful cinematics complemented the story line well. There were enough turns to keep you interested, although there were some of the usual "and then a miracle happened..." moments that seem to plague many films of this genre. Low-key humor is sprinkled generously but appropriately throughout, and it all worked well. While these weren't their award-winning performances, Pfeiffer and DeNiro were still both delightful to watch. I left the theater thoroughly entertained and will likely see this film again.

    So much fun!

This movie is from the book of the same name by Neil Gaiman. This writer also wrote the story to MirrorMask. Stardust is immeniently more enjoyable by the whole family. My 10 year old found the action great. My 7 year old found the story fairytale-ish for her princess needs. The 4 year old found it scary enought to want to sit in my lap half way through but did stay awake to see the whole movie. The plot is fun and fast and with all the right twists and turns to keep it fresh.

I would highly reccommend this movie to families to watch together. I think the messages for young people are important. The visuals are wonderful. The acting pretty good. I would not have missed Mr DeNiro in this role for all the world! Ms Pfieffer plays a lovely/ugly witch so well! Clair Danes is believable as a luminous star. Charlie Cox is a rising star of his own. Nathaniel Parker is yummy, yummy, yummy!

Go see this movie and be perpared to smile and laugh and ENJOY yourself.

    Stardust a Must

    by MWalsh

I did not know what to expect. I never even saw a trailer! But I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. It was constantly entertaining with a great mix of comedy, adventure, satire, and action. I was enamored by the whole thing. The story line was crisp and fresh. It was not like some overhashed love story or adventure. If you go to see this movie with high expectations you will find that it will exceed this! This is a somewhat long movie, but the time passes incredibly fast. I rate this movie 2 large buttered popcorns!

Apsolutley the best movie in years

    by Iris86

Its really hard to want to go spend the money going to the theater because the movies are so bad and nothing like the previews for it. I am so glad I went to this one. I am a very big movie buff and I am also very critical of movies. This movie was absolutely the best movie I have seen in years. There was humor and suspense, it was amazing. My mother is 52yrs old, my father 62yrs old and I am 21yrs old and we all loved it and were so glad we saw it in theaters.

    What a fun movie

This is a very fun movie. It has it all, love, romance, laugh out loud funny, and a message. And all without, bad language, nudity, and very little violence. Can you imagine? I'll bet most of Hollywood cannot. It is time that we got back to movies with heart and laughter. Thank you Matthew Vaughn for making a wonderful movie.

    A Summer Blockbuster For Sure!

I came into this movie thinking, "Oh no, not another Harry Potter wannabe movie." I didn't want to go, but my family made me. And it turns out Stardust was a GREAT movie! There was the right amount of action and romance. I was pleasantly suprised, and you should be too when you see it!

    Stardust

My husband and I LOVE fantasy ... and if you do, it's a wonderful movie. It had me on the edge of my seat a couple of times. It's no Harry Potter, but I really enjoyed it and am surprised at how terrible it did in the box office.

I for one am VERY glad that I went to see it. I thoroughly enjoyed the actors who played Tristan and the 'star'! And I thought that Michelle Pfieffer looked marvelous (both in the gorgeous and the old witch).

But I think the topper is Robert DeNiro's character. My husband couldn't believe that he was in a fantasy movie. But when his character's true self came out, we were hysterical! It was mostly children in the audience, but the adults were VERY amused!

To sum it up ... we had a great night out at the movies last night! After working so hard all week, it's nice to slip away into another world for a couple of hours! Thank you Matthew Vaughn!
