An interesting and mostly-successful step into the mainstream by Harmony Korine

As a confronting, out-on-the-edge film-maker, Harmony Korine got strong reactions from the narrow audience of art house film watchers he courted in his early career. "Spring Breakers" is aimed at the mainstream (I think) but also seems designed to provoke strong reactions. The story felt to me like an allegory for an America that is stuck in a type of collective adolescence where the love of sex, guns and consumerism dominate all other values. People who can't stand to see America criticized, or even reflected negatively in the most oblique fashion, will hate this film. I liked it a lot. James Franco's performance is fantastic. An original and eye-catching mixture of film and storytelling approaches taken from different genres of film really worked for me, like a genius combination of two ingredients by great chef. My only issue with this film was the ending, which felt like a studio executive had imposed it to create more of an upbeat resolution to the story.

Spring Breakers * Ive Finally Seen it !!

I just got home from seeing "SPRING BREAKERS" at Edwards Theater. Spring Breakers was exactly what i thought it would be. It called Spring Breakers for a reason. Defiantly a whole lot of parties, sex & drugs. The whole stereotype of what Spring Break is. A group of friends who just wanted to have fun & one thing led to another. (James Franco) was Hilarious in this movie, Everyone was laughing in the theater room. Good Comedy mixed into it. ( SELENA GOMEZ ) played a character thats really true to her Real self. Real Conservative & having good conscience. I was expecting her to be More involved the whole movie! But her Role was well played. To everyone that disliked the movie, Come On Now! It was all expected. I STILL recommend people to see it for themselves before believing what others say! Its defiantly Entertaining ! Go See It!

James Franco and Selena Gomez give stellar performances. The script could be tighter and some logic didn't jive. But it was a good script for the most part. Very good directing and editing. Great performances from all of the main cast. I liked it a lot and hope it becomes a classic! I see glimpses of Vanessa Hudgens winning an Oscar at some future point of her career. There were people in the audience where I saw it in Santa Monica, California from all age groups, all genders, class and races! I think this movie is going to make a lot of money!!!!

WORST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN FOR YEARS, IF NOT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. saw it at the midnight premiere and the entire theater was laughing at how ridiculous the acting and script was, especially towards the end. i was one of about half the theater to actually stay till the end, and after i was alternating between laughing too hard to breathe with my friend and how retarded the entire movie was, and cursing the director for tricking me into spending $8.75 for the worst cinematic experience of my life... oh and Gucci mane was absolutely unbelievably awful. Mind blowingly bad.
