No joke. This is literally the worst movie of all time. There is no plot, story, or point to this movie except maybe topless chicks covered in beer. Save yourself the money and watch topless chicks on the internet for free. The movie is just the same five minutes of video and audio played over, and over, and over, and over again. "Spring break, spring break, (topless chicks), spring break, (topless chicks), spring break, spring break." Abomination!

Some of these reviews are hilarious!
Many of you were clearly expecting this to be a different kind of movie. What did you think this film was about? Did you think it was a "Wild Things"-style soft-core porn? Gimmie a break, people! That's like walking out of "Lincoln" and wondering why it wasn't funnier. You obviously have astonishingly misinformed expectations.
This movie was directed by an accomplished art house director. His movies usually show in like 10 or fewer theaters across the country. This is his first big film. Did you really think he was directing a clone of "21 & Over"?
Now that we've gotten that absurd misconception out of the way -- SEE THIS MOVIE. It is amazing. This is one of the best films of the past year -- better than any of the movies that were just up for the Oscars. It's well directed, shot, styled, designed, performed. Every aspect of it is pretty much exceptional. If you have the taste to know a good movie from a bad one, you will love this movie.

The movie makes no sense its pretty much disney girls gone bad with no real plot. A movie i wouldnt recommend any female to see and copy.It just degrades females in so many levels. James Franco makes it funny but he is the worst gangster ever they even have music by brittany spears another disney girl gone bad and selena gomez has a pointless character in the movie no reason why she would promote this movie shes not even really in it

Not as good as Gummo but definitely more entertaining than Mister Lonely, Spring Breakers has a lot of posing and posturing but also just enough visually stimulizing images and setups along with a great performance by Franco to warrant a viewing. Don't expect a lot of story or amazing dialogue and take it for what it is, an American Apparel ad come to life.

Unexpected commentary on the fantasy lives of the X-box generation who treat sex and violence as disposable items. The dark twists are realistic until the gun violence breaks out. Lots of great messages for x-boxers..listen to your gut, the party life is for entertainers and drug dealers, the rest of us work and take vacations. Parents be advised the first 30 minutes of this movie is an accurate portrayal of spring break today - dismiss that fact at your own peril.
