The IMAX format is so great too bad the film's script didn't match the largesse of the screen.

Summer sequels are often times predictable and formulaic historically so it is with low expectations that they are attended, but this installment seemed to pit great actors against the high demand for special effects. Almost every other scene that involved dialogue seemed fraught with over-the-top emotion. All eyes seemed to brim with tears, as if the mark of great acting were the amount of water produced by all the eyes in the movie. It's not as if there was much room for any other choice in the script though, In order to compete with the high intesity of the special effects the performances chosen by the editors were equally intense. Then again, films based in comic books tend to be about melodrama.

Spiderman3 - The rise of a million villains

Wow! How many bad guys should you fit into one movie? The answer is less than 3 and that's for sure. Between the Story of Harry Osborn and Peter Parker's Freindship and the symbiote suit coming down from space why did we need a sandman in the picture? For marketing! How many kids own a sandman toy today? I'm sure it's more than we would like to think! I loved the movie's comic book style story line which goes against more traditional comic book films that have been out in the past. The idea of moving from one panel of a comic book to another really came across in this movie. However, I never felt like the Sandman ever fit into the movie. I still give it 4 out 5 for great effects and action. Loved the story of Peter and Eddie Brok!

Excellent Movie Even With Its Flaws

You miss nothing by not seeing it on IMAX. The top and bottom of the screen is cut off dramatically and gives you the feeling of watching a letterbox film instead of a full screen. It's still a bit bigger than a regular theater screen but not enough to justify the extra cost. The special effects are so impressive that they'll play big on any size screen. The movie moves along at a very good pace connecting the different storylines together but I was surprised that a superb actress like Bryce Dallas Howard would take such a meaningless supporting role that had no impact on the story. There is also quite a bit of male vulnerability in a movie that is so high on action but they manage to include some very funny scenes as well. The action scenes are very ambitious and grand in scale and the Hob Goblin is not just a throw-in to the plot. The climactic battle contains some magnificent special effects and a surprise that had the audience whooping it up. I highly recommend it.

Not as good as the first two movies.

     by  pixar4life91

When we look at a superhero like this, we're actually not looking at a piece of history. We're checking to see if "Spider-Man 3" is as good as the previous films. For the most part, it lives up to it. In this film, Spidey is against The Sandman and Venom as well as Harry Osbourne as the venchful New Goblin. Also in his private life, Peter has problems in his friendship with Mary Jane Watson. The story is a lot with two villains, but it actually just doesn't live up to the comics. The Venom designs were really good. The action sequences were pretty slow, but it still is fine for the kids. At least, it's not as bad as "Batman Forever." "Spider-Man 3" contains two great action sequences that you should enjoy for this movie.

A little on the agressive side, but good

     by  Lady_T

Since the IMAX is right there in your face sort of speak, it was very intense. Spidey really takes a beating. Definitely PG-13 for the violence. I just didn't expect such a beat down, It was worth seeing.

Thought it was the best one yet,as long as you saw the previous two movies. The action was incredible and seeing it in IMAX was amazing.
