    This looks amazing.

Like seriously, one of the best movies of the year. I read the graphic novels and they were just incredible. I want to see this SO bad. Anyone who is a fan of Donnie Darko MUST GO!! Plus, with Justin Timberlake, Seann William Scott, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, how can you go wrong?

    wtf?

Well, the movie is well made, but if you have a hard time following confusing films, this is not for you...Although I understood what was going on overall, a few ppl that saw it with me were becoming more confused throughout the film. The ending was weak and the movie itself was really out there, and yes i found it very confusing at times. too. I am glad that I didn't go to theaters to see it. It does however, have a ton of random actors thrown together that wouldn't expect to ever see in the same movie...it has some humor in it as well...overall, CONFUSING is the word that comes to mind with this movie...Pointless is another good one. It's interesting but make sure you read the synopsis so you remember what the hell it's about otherwise you'll be lost.

Southland Tales is the type of movie where initially its the individual scenes that are enjoyable, but the movie as a whole is kind of questionable. I enjoyed the experience but came out of the theater feeling like I should have been on some mind altering substance in order to fully fathom what I had just seen. I will have to go see the movie again in order to catch the many, I'm sure, little plot points, nuances and clues I missed the first go around. As far as film continuity, I felt that some of the films scenes could have been cut shorter, but that they didn't loose their impact from a bit of added length.
I recommend seeing the movie maybe for no other reason than to spot all of the famous faces that pop up in the movie in roles far from what the actor(s) usually play.
All in all, I say yes to seeing it, but suggest a matinee
