I was so disappointed in this movie and I felt a little empty inside as we left the movie room. I was rubbing my temples and hoping the movie would just come to an end. There is little action in this movie, just a short fight with a 'troll' in the middle and a short 'battle' at the end when Snow white stabs the witch with a small dagger. There was an awkward and boring meeting with the 7 dwarfs (they tried to be funny but it wasn't working) and of course a bizarre encounter in a magical forest between Snow White and some albino antelope/reindeer that gets shot with an arrow 5 seconds later. It seemed like a scene out of Chronicles of Narnia but not in a good way..
I guess, Charlize did a good job playing the evil witch/step mother....and Chris H. is hot but that's pretty much it. The chick from twilight is horrible..how does she keep getting an acting job?!? I think they it would have been more entertaining having a stuffed teddy bear or a branch replace her in the movie.

What I liked most about this movie was the twist on the fairy tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. There was nothing sappy, go happy, love bound to this story. Yes, there was an underlying "love" story but nothing like what you would expect from a "fairy tale". The twist made it more realistic to an adult audience.
I will admit the acting and chemistry was a bit lacking but the imagery and story line helped make up for it. Kristen Stewart continues to annoy with her acting frail and sad all the time. Her trying to be strong still looked weak to me. She did not look like a leader with her sad eyes and tear streaked face all the time.

It was so drawn out. I was so disappointed. The music was screaming "EPIC" but the movie just wasn't. Kristen whatshername acts through dramatic breathing. Charlize Theron was awesome, but there wasn't enough screen time or script for her. Meh. Charlize's costumes were beautifully detailed with all kinds of symbolism. Disney's Snow White was more entertaining. The kisses had no passion. The acting? Kristen seriously looks like she needs to poop throughout the entire film.

Liked the spin on this retelling of Snow White as it kept my attention for the entire length of the movie. Outstanding visuals, great acting, sound effects all keyed in to keeping my attention to a story I knew that would end in "happily ever after"! Great cast of actors, especially enjoyed the evil Queen Ravena, and of course, Snow White who rises to the occasion to regain her kingdom.

First, let me get this out of the way: this is the same story we've been told since we were children. If you're hoping for some sort of twist ending or a complete revamp of the concepts, you'll be disappointed. But if you're looking for a lush, beautiful world with enjoyable characters, you'll love this. Visually, it's striking; almost distractingly so at points. The acting ranges from meh (the Queen's brother and the love interest) to excellent (Snow White, The Queen, the Huntsman, the dwarves) - but the females definitely drive this movie. Well worth seeing on the big screen - but as a note, some of the scenes are violent with characters implying rape and the Queen is a well written but disturbing character of her own. An excellent fairy tale for adults and teens, but probably one for little kids to sit out. Overall? An excellent movie. I'm looking forward to adding it to my home collection on blu-ray release.
