Dwayne Johnson does the best performance of his career, but my guess is that people will be dissatisfied for this reason. The film isn't an action movie. It's a subtle, nuanced film with little violence and few explosions. Mr. Johnson's performance fits the bill. He never lets his huge frame and action star past get in the way of an intelligent approach to the role. It's a quiet film, almost an art-house film, and DJ should be proud of his work. Susan Serandon is also excellent as a slightly sleazy AUSA.

We both liked it alot ... Better than we thought it was going to be because of the title.
It had a story line .. not too much killing and the only problem is that we couldn't understand what some of the characters were saying even though we got the jist of their comments.
A must see movie.

This movie is based on a true story , so The Rock.... I mean Dwayne , gets to stretch his acting abilities by playing a normal , average , working class man [there is even a scene where he gets beat up by some street punks that normally , he wouldn't even break a sweat on] . When Dwayne's son gets into some drug problems [he was caught holding drugs for a friend] and is headed to prison for ten years [stiff drug laws] a deal is made with a Congresswoman , Susan , for Dwayne to go undercover and bust a big-time drug boss , Benjamin . Barry plays an undercover cop . This is not your typical action movie [it is slow-paced] but it has a decent story .
It's not one that I would buy on DVD but it would be alright , as a rental .

Dewayne Johnson has come along way in acting, from the TOOTH FARIE to a real action thriller like SNITCH, Way to go Dewayne keep up the great acting,
My wife & I saw the movie today March 1,
A great action movie with no lag time, meaning no long stretches in the movie with no substance manner.
Directing made the movie very realistic.
Not for children under 14.

Nice mix of action and drama, with surprisingly good to excellent performances by Dwayne Johnson (aka "The Rock"), and from the HBO hit series "The Wire," Michael K Williams (as "Omar Little") and former "The Walking Dead" cast member, Jon Bernthal (as "Shane"). The plot become predictable about midway, but has lots of twists and turns afterward that will hold your interest through to the end. Providing and excellent costar performance, this movie could have easily been about Jon's character, far from his "bad cop" role in TWD. You expect that at any moment Dwayne will go into wrestle mode and start knocking heads, but it never happens, especially in the light of his physical domanace against a backdrop of physically normal characters. This movie makes me want to see Michael K Williams in a different typecast. All in all- bravo, good work!
