    Bullets and blood.

This movie is a shoot 'em up free for all with some notable scenes including Ray Liota and Ryan Reynolds. The two and everybody else are out to get a coked out Jeremy Piven who agrees to testify against the mob. Ben Affleck has a small, but enjoyable part as a two bit bounty hunter who gets killed by punk/drugged out gang (sort of killing off the competition). Alicia Keys looks great as a bounty hunter/prostitute also out to get piven.

    Brainless entertainment

     by  H3OIndra

This is the kind of movie you have to start not expecting much. Kick back, relax, and enjoy some rediculous gun touting action. Don't watch this with kids and try not to do any thinking.

    Smokin Aces is smokin' confusing

     by  xxredheadjessxx

I found this movie amusing on most pointes but a tad bit confusing and rushed for my taste. I had a hard time understanding the big "secret" at the end and it seemed to me all the scenes were as if someone had their finger on the fast forward button and was skimming thru something important. On the upside I highly enjoyed the Tremor Brothers and thought they were everything a hired killer should be, not to mention down right funny. So in whole, I could see it again, but if not, no big loss.

    A bloody good time!

Smokin' Aces is a blood good time geared towards fans of mob action thrillers. With its all star cast including Andy Garcia and Ray Liotta this movie has serious gangster credibility. Strangely, enough both Garcia and Liotta are cast on the other side of La Costa Nostra as FBI agents in this Tarantino-esque homage. Filled with decidely dememented psychopathic contract killers this freak fest is the best splatter flick to bloody the screen this year.

a movie where everything was solid except the plot

beautifully directed, well acted, superb soundtrack, but the plot needs a lot of work. ends up being more depressing than anything else in the end. **in retrospect, walking in 10 minutes late probably didnt help the confusion. After renting the DVD and watching the first ten minutes, and watching the movie a few more times, its definitely growing on me.
