Skyfall strips the James Bond franchise down to it's essentials, with affectionate nods to past adventures along the way (the Walther PPK, the Aston Martin, Q and Moneypenny). But rather than simply wallow in nostalgia, the movie also reshapes Bond to truly fit the modern age; something Casino Royale began, but more in set dressing (the use of cellphones and computers) than actual story line. Gone are over the top supervillains with outlandish fortresses in space or stroking their cats in hallowed out volcanoes. Today's threats are more internal and tenacious (a rogue agent who seeks revenge through cyberterrorism and is not hellbent on ruling the world so much as turning it upside down). A recently injured Bond also must rediscover essential truths about himself in order to regain full confidence. It's also one hell of a ride, too! This may very well be the most personal Bond movie; but it's not a soap opera by any means. One of the best Bonds in years.

Incredible movie from the first 5 minutes until the end. Incredible sound and special effects. I don't think it would have been as amazing if I didn't see it in the IMAX theater!! Loved Craig as Bond....SEXY!! The villian was perfect, and of course "M"!!! I fell in love with "Q" and his addition to the crew. Remarkable plot throughout and I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie!

Movie was great - well done...now in my top 5 of favorite Bond films. My first IMAX experience was nice...not sold on the fact that the enhancement is worth the extra charge. Call me cheap - rather size up on the popcorn and drink. But an entertaining time, just the same.

Of course, Daniel Craig is amazing, but what a script! This movie brings together so many pieces, and sets the Bond movies up for a fantastic future. 007 is really back to being the classy spy with a license to kill that Ian Fleming created.

The Bond movie Skyfall is a well directed update to the franchise, with well chosen bits of nostalgia. Javier Bardem is sensational in this one. Sam Mendes brings a new and fresh perspective to the whole action genre with a lot of brainpower.
Not to be missed!
