    Sentimental 007?

    by eugemac

This is a 007 for guys with a feminine side. A novel approach but not my cup of tea. The plot dragged. I expected the girlfriend to love it but she was also disappointed. Awful screenplay, a disappointment.

IMAX is the only way to see Bond

No spoilers here. I have seen Skyfall twice now - the second time in IMAX. Spend the extra money. Daniel Craig's understated (relatively speaking) Bond is in a class all his own. Judi Dench is, well, Judi Dench. 'Nuff said.

The 50-year anniversary arc is nicely done. This will rank as a Bond classic.

    Bond is back

The problem I have had with the two previous Bond movies with Daniel Craig is that they could have been any action movie. Craig could have been Bond, Smith or Jones and the movie would not have changed one bit. With this film they have re-adopted the Bond character. There was no substitution of another action hero. What is great about the 50 legacy of this series is the character and in this movie he is back.

Add to that Just a plain, action packed, fun, exciting, film.

    Sky fall

Quintessential Bond! Wonderful action, great venues and a quality villain. A long movie but I didn't want it to end. Seeing the movie in an IMAX setting made it more spectacular.

skyfall -- the best in decades!

    by airira

Linking the past and the future by using locations and technology was brilliant scriptwriting, making this the best of the new Bond (Daniel Craig) films.
    Loved it!

    Bond has come full circle!!

The real James Bond has returned in the latest entry of this indefatigable five-decade long series. "Skyfall" is an exciting, action-filled movie that belies its 143 minute length. From the energetic opening sequence, through the dramatic finale, to the smile-inducing epilogue, there are enough touches of the old and the new Bond to satisfy any fan. The film serves as a fitting celebration of fifty years of Bond. The performances by Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench and Javier Bardem are top drawer. I never thought anyone could hold a candle to Sean Connery as James Bond but Craig, in his third outing as 007, runs Connery a close second! After decades of putting up with the dilettantish Roger Moore and the cardboard acting of Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, it's a pleasure to see Craig portray Bond with the kind of deadly hard edge and deadpanned sense of humor not seen since "Diamonds are Forever". From "Dr. No" to "Skyfall", Commander James Bond has come full circle!!

    A little disappointed...

    by

Not as much action as I was expecting. Not many car chases and fascinating cars. I left feeling unfulfilled.

    enough to convince me

I've never been a big Daniel Craig fan. Especially when it comes to the Bond franchise. However, his performance in Skyfall is enough to convince me that's the he is Bond. An older, slower, more faceted Bond. In this installment, we get to see more of the personal side of Bond. A little more back story, a little more humanity, and a little more vulnerability. A MUST SEE for fan and foe alike

    double O, go.

    by

Daniel Craig is appearing and portraying an aging 007, but his high action stunts and bare torso beg to differ. Smoother fine DC movie and story. The action does not dissapoint.

Skyfall - A Return to Classic Bond Films

Skyfall in IMAX was a fabulous movie experience. The best part of the new film is how it feels like an early Bond movie. The focus is on good versus evil, action, and plot over gadgets, gimmicks and the absurd. Back to its roots...Bond is at its best. Very entertaining and more realisitic than the majority of Bond films. Worth the price and then some...

    really high expectations...

I went in thinking it was going to be the best Bond film. Sadly mistaken.
Highly predictable, too much comedy (and not original Bond humor - stupid comedy).
Intro action scene not that great... Intro with Adele, repetitive.
It wasnt bad, but it was FAR from the best.

Hope you enjoy it more now that I have lowered your expectations.

Movie: good; IMAX: not so good

Skyfall itself was very enjoyable and well done (script, acting, production). The IMAX part was disappointing. The sound was painfully loud and made even more unpleasant by being about a second or so behind the video. Proper AV sync should be a given these days.

    More story less action.

Movie was good but this time around there was more story than action. But as always it's a must watch 007.
