If you like to be scared this is the movie for you. Classic thriller, you will be on the edge of your seat or grabbing the person next to you thru the whole movie.

this movie when it first came out, i wasnt expecting much but finally decided to see it with some friends and was pretty pleased with how it built up to get the ending it did. i overall enjoyed the film and just thought one thing in my head when he first finds the films, is a title one of the other reviewers posted. "Ethan Hawke watches a film" haha.

Suspenseful and Creepy

This is a great horror movie that really builds up the suspense and gives you those jump-out-of-your-seat moments. Very creepy and jarring ending. We thoroughly enjoyed it. 'Old School' suspenseful horror at its best.

Weird

This movie was very strange indeed. A man finds a bunch of ultra violent home movies in his new home, and watches them despite being disturbed by them. People hanging from trees, being cut up with lawnmowers, being burned alive inside a car and other sick and ultra violent / bloody things are among the movies, which the killer has labeled with "clever" titles, which are in reality stupid and hokey. Even after destroying the movies, they reappear. The movie ends in a truly absurd way and how the murders are connected really makes no sense either. I wouldn't recommend seeing this unless you are drunk, then it would likely be a fantastic movie under that circumstance.
