which lets be honest, isn't saying much. But Sinister does have a unique plot and lots of scary moments that leave the audience still till they jump. In all it's a great movie to rent and watch with your matcho friend (we all have them) in the dark to see their reaction to the creepy twists and turns of Sinister.

This movie should be titled, "Ethan Hawke Watches a Film"

...because that was all that happened in this snoozefest that purported itself to be a horror flick. Save your money and wait for "Sinister" to hit cable.

Creepy more than scary

I saw Sinister yesterday with my best friend. She jumped at alot of the parts and I won't lie, I jumped at a few as well. It's not so much what happens but more so the fact that it seems to get really loud whenever they wanted to show something scary. Overall, it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. It was a creepy situation that Ethan Hawke's character got himself into. Also, the demon in the movie....that is one freaky looking mask. I think it's worth giving it a try but don't expect to be terrified. Not really that type of movie.

Best creepy in years out of Hollywood

Quite honestly, I can't think of a single creeper in years that was this decent. I haven't heard girls get freaked out like this in years. This is a worthy movie. Only thing I was getting concerned about when I saw how it would end is that it would end too abruptly and not explain something, but I was wrong and it had acceptable ending that resolved my big question. I challenge these people writing bad reviews to name one thing in years in this genre that has been anywhere even close to how good this was. Name something, you can't.

Perfect Halloween movie

Unlike many of the "found footage" horror movies that have made the rounds over the years, this one is on to something. By combining the home videos found in an attic with the supernatural, the fear factor is doubled in that you don't really know if it's a serial killer or something else. Ethan Hawke does a great job playing a dude that ends up going a little crazy after looking into these cold cases after moving into one of the victim's homes. His cop buddy provides some much needed humor to a story that is beyond dark. Each of the home movies found seem to one up the previous one on the sick & twisted meter. Without giving anything away, you see how one guy's chance to write a story turns into something pretty bad. And why does everything bad happen in Connecticut? I read some people had it figured out early on but I was kept guessing until the last few minutes of the movie. Worth the trip to a late showing if your looking for a good scare at the movies.
