I went to see this last night in NY not really knowing what to expect. I read a few things previously, then saw Bradley Cooper doing a tv promo and decided to definitely check it out. I loved it and thought it was funny and quirky and heartfelt and different. It made me feel like I was seeing something more unique than the usual movie fare, and I go to the movies often. The cast was great - I kind of fell in love with Bradley Cooper (he was really good in this role) and it was nice to see Jennifer Lawrence in something completely different after seeing her in "Hunger Games." Robert DeNiro was also very good, I liked seeing a more vulnerable side of him in the "dad" role. I really wish Chris Tucker was used more, he is funny and his role was too limited to me. The entire supporting cast shined in the group scenes especially. I actually may go see this again next week. It really stayed with me for some reason, I think because it showed flawed people in all their beautiful glory.

My partner and I decided to see this movie after watching a pre-release interview with Bradley Cooper. It sounded interested (plus we're from the Philadelphia area) so we decided to find a theater showing it. As there was only one movie theater showing it in our area with only three times available, we were a little wary of just how good this movie would be.
The good news was that it was a great little movie with some believable performances by Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro. As a young man dealing with bi-polar depression, Cooper came across as the real deal as he struggles to get his life together after a court-mandated stay at a Baltimore psychiatric hospital.
Lawrence plays another character dealing with her own demons after the accidental death of her policeman husband. The two of them meet and the real story begins.
Put this movie on your "to do" list...it will definitely be a good addition.

We loved the movie! I was surprised more people were not in the theater on it's opening weekend, but it was also Breaking Dawn 2, and Lincoln opening weekend. I saw BD2 on Thursday night, and if I'd let my hubby choose, he would have chosen Lincoln. So hopefully everyone will go see it next weekend! It's super cute!

My daughter and I saw this movie yesterday. We loved it. Great dialogue, acting and banter. It's not hard looking at Bradley Cooper...Go see it.

I only decided to watch this movie after the very high critic scores and rotten tomato rating. I had no idea what is was about. Silver Linings Playbook is a glimpse into a world that many people struggle with everyday and many others have no idea exists. There's a lot of good crazy and sad crazy in this movie.
Bradley Cooper plays a character you root for but your not sure if the outcome will be positive. There are definitely some uncomfortable moments that may make you cringe in your seat. I'm glad I saw this well done depiction of an unconventional love story and personal triumph over the inner demons many with mental disorders face everyday.
A lot is to be said of the acting in this movie. A job well done to the cast!
