Movie was very good. It is a dark comedy..... Some situations are sad, but humorous. Thought Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were excellent opposite each other. They should do another flick together. Movie makes you laugh and cry. Didn't realize how sexy and sensual Jennifer is. WOW

"Oh No" excepy fo last 15 Minutes of "So-So/Go"

Likeable actors playing unlikeable, hard to watch, and hard to believe mental illness roles. First 3/4 of movie plot/dialogue is punishing bad (really wanted to leave and go get our money back), with the last 1/4 turning abruptly acceptable. Poorly written screenplay probably began with writing the turnaround and semi-sappy ending, and then threw together some ridulous crap for the beginning and middle for filler. Some nice acting moments and a few laughs along the way. Sad to see the talents of Dinero, and others, willing to participate in this type of substandard storytelling.

Silver Linings Hits The Mark!

I loved Silver Linings Playbook. Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper delivered stellar performances in this emotional, twisty unconventional date-night movie. The story focuses on a bipolar hero and a heroine struggling with her own neurotic issues. The story is hard to watch if you have any experience with loved ones who struggle with bipolar disorder, but the triumphant silver lining the characters find on their journey provides a feel-good happy ending viewers will love.

Wait for it to come out on cable

If something is marketed in a certain manner, I expect it to be how it is marketed. While "Silver Linings Playbook" is nice character study film, it's not what I would call funny. A few chuckles, yes. But once again the promoters mischaracterized this movie as a "romantic comedy." It was more of a story about two, while sympathetic, pathetic people trying to work their way through mental issues. The story was fairly interesting, but it left a lot of loose ends as it shifted gears between one story focusing on one set of characters and then over to another story focusing on a different set of characters. The "Philadelphia" inside jokes and characterizations were funny, but you only get it if you're from the area. The primary actors do a very credible job with their parts. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence provide outstanding performances and are very believeable. It's a movie you could probably get wait until it comes to cable. And you won't probably won't laugh.

I thought this movie depicted mental illness (bi-polar disorder) just brilliantly, but what I remember best is the wonderfully loving way people treated each other in this movie. I feel a warm rush of affection for it even weeks later.
