Wonderful story. Mental illness is rarely addressed in movies. Hope they show more of it in the future. We do have a lot of people with personality disorders that should be depicted in movies. The acting and the character development (Philli Eagle Fans) was superb. Jennifer Lawrence is a sexy fox!. My only negative is the use of the f---k word, whore and other crude comments, etc--- way too much. Crude, rude words were, in my opinion, often added to just shock the viewer. I supect the producers thought it would also be funny-I did not. It would have been a much better movie if less of the vulgur language was used in the dialogue. Then when it was used it would had a greater impact! I hope most Philli fans and families do not talk that crudely and rudely-at least I hope so. Otherwise, a great funny, lovable movie with a great ending. My wife and I loved it!

Silver Linings Playbook is moving, perceptive, not too sentimental or slapstick, well edited, unexpected, laugh-out-loud, heartbreaking and true. Lots of opportunies to go off the tracks here, but miraculously, it never happens. Go and have a wonderful time!

Good story well told. Whole new side of Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence is sensational--she is likely to get Oscar nom for this part. DeNiro is best we have seen in a long time. Funny, poignant, and good look into dealing with mental challenges too. I loved it.

While the basic story line of this movie is nothing that hasn't been done a zillion different ways, the creativity of the characters, their development and the acting execution draws you in and holds you. You come to really like and root for the main characters, and there's that little sense of loss as the movie winds to an end, leaving you wanting more.

Probably Bradley Cooper's best...

My partner and I decided to see this movie after watching a pre-release interview with Bradley Cooper. It sounded interested (plus we're from the Philadelphia area) so we decided to find a theater showing it. As there was only one movie theater showing it in our area with only three times available, we were a little wary of just how good this movie would be. The good news was that it was a great little movie with some believable performances by Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro. As a young man dealing with bi-polar depression, Cooper came across as the real deal as he struggles to get his life together after a court-mandated stay at a Baltimore psychiatric hospital. Lawrence plays another character dealing with her own demons after the accidental death of her policeman husband. The two of them meet and the real story begins. Put this movie on your "to do" list...it will definitely be a good addition.
