It is a rarity, but it is nothing short of stupendous when a film exponentially gets better and better; David O. Russell's ("The Fighter") rocks the charts with this winner. Anticipation eliminated: "Silver Lining Playbook" garnishes five sterling STARS!!!!! I loved it...
"Silver Lining Playbook" is profound in addressing life's cruel interruptions: loss of the known, love, and self; wounds heal but scars remain sacred, reminders of what's past but not determining, forecasting the future. Resonating with redemption, every character evolves, wordless introspectiveness morphs into rejuvenated, revived genuinely likeable even loveable individuals; striving, struggling within their natural sphere, all achieving their "personal best"...

I only decided to watch this movie after the very high critic scores and rotten tomato rating. I had no idea what is was about. Silver Linings Playbook is a glimpse into a world that many people struggle with everyday and many others have no idea exists. There's a lot of good crazy and sad crazy in this movie.
Bradley Cooper plays a character you root for but your not sure if the outcome will be positive. There are definitely some uncomfortable moments that may make you cringe in your seat. I'm glad I saw this well done depiction of an unconventional love story and personal triumph over the inner demons many with mental disorders face everyday.
A lot is to be said of the acting in this movie. A job well done to the cast!

The ads for this movie made it seem like a comedy but it isn't. The first 15 mins. or so were mildly interesting, the last 20 mins. were ok, also. BUt through most of it my friend and I were both bored throughout most of it. The acting was superb, however.

It is no wonder the critics love this monumental piece of TRASH. It is so full of sick and twisted characters that it becomes evident in the first 20 minutes that the entire story is unfeasible. Jennifer Lawrence's face was SO FULL of BOTOX I thought it would explode at any moment. Once again, Robert De Niro stretches to play a role, and ends up playing Robert De Niro! (Come on! As hard as he tries, he can't act past himself.) BUT, the real low point of this movie was when Cooper stands in front of a print of Jesus hanging on the wall behind him and lets out a long chorus of vulgar profanity. Yes, maybe I am a prude but I don't find it necessary to pollute a script with fowl language to make a good movie., I wonder how the World would react if it had been a Muslim image with the same use of words!
