I liked the first one so i decided to give the second a try. I went by myself and saw it in 3d. I think the back story should have been explained a little sooner that it was. Left a big hole in the story for about thirty minutes. It was ok.

I was very disappointed in Silent Hill and I will not tell people they should see it cause it was a waste of money and of my time.

I'll have to be honest I didnt play much of the games as a kid but that does not stop me from enjoying and adaptation of a movie from a game franchise even though usualy it ends up as a train wreck. This is the movie all other game movie adaptations should be compared against. The story was pretty spot on to the game I beleive the third game and leaves it open to start into the fourth game! Perfect blend of suspense and action opens up this to only want you to go to halloween horror nights to see what they have done to match up to the movie! A must see for the season and one to see twice! I know I will!

Story 7/10 the head of the order resisting Alessa doesn't make sense if shes a demon herself and Alessa was defeated by her daughter way too easily Visuals 8/10 gotta admit the red pyramid vs the Lady of the order was cool and the nurses are hot as hell Horror factor 6/10 nothing jumped at me as scary but the manaquine spider was creepy Overall 7/10 I rate this as a strong B+ or A- a must go and may see again,

Too much Revelation, Not quite Silent Hill

Overall this movie was alright and I had fun, but it was definitely a flawed film. A rushed pace, some poor uses (and versions) of popular characters, and a more "American" feel were the worst parts. However, the visuals were still awesome, the sets still creepy, and I really liked Adelaide Clemens as Heather Mason. To be honest, unless you were a Silent Hill fan before the first film, you may not enjoy this one much. All the tiny easter eggs left in this film for SH fans are what helped keep it from becoming a "meh" movie.
