Fans of the first film will love the return to Silent Hill. We get to see the continuation of the story in full 3D - and it's actually not as cheesy as you might expect. Here we find a tale about underground cults, alternate dimensions, and the splitting of souls. Fascinating stuff. The movie is not truly scary - but - the scenes when "the darkness comes" are genuinely unsettling. There are also some moments of very thick tension. There is enough reality injected to make the craziness seem almost plausible, The protagonist is lovable, yet very snarky and biting - as one would expect of someone raised by a single father and who has been on the run after the death of her mother. The ending is believable enough, and I appreciate the lack of a "last scare" scam. Nevertheless, I smell a sequel - after all there were several video games in this franchise.

It was a great flick. Still had the same essense as the first movie and left the door open for yet another sequel. Kept me on the edge of my seat!

Even if you're not a Silent Hill fan or have no idea about the game, the movie still has a good story. I'm glad that there were more Pyramid Head appearances as he's my favorite character from both the games and the movies. An hour and 35 minutes just wasn't long enough. I hope they continue the franchise.

"Don't go to Silent Hill". Seriously. You WILL be disappointed. I shelled out $29 for tickets to see this in 3D and then another $12 for a popcorn and drink. All that money just to watch the worst movie I have seen in a theater in years. The acting was horrible, especially when it came to dialogue exchanged between father and daughter and the script was so dang cheesy anyway. There were big plot holes. Excuse me, I meant to say huge, gigantic, gaping plot holes. On top of that, the movie in general was extremely boring. It doesn't take too much to keep my attention during a movie, but wow, I was nearly falling asleep in my seat. The attempts at jump scenes were horrible and didn't even surprise me at all. The scene on the carousel was the worst. A hugging "fight scene"? Seriously? No epic battle or showdown of any sort between Sharon & Alessa? No sort of good vs. evil? Just an embrace? What on Earth were the writers thinking? All in all, please do not waste your money on this movie!

What is going on, where's my dad, where are we, I don't understand! You will hear these lines so many times that it is comedic and a little cheesy but I had a great laugh!
