If I had read the reviews before we went to the show I probably wouldn't have gone. My husband and i both thought the first half was boring but OMG when I finally figuered out the plot, several times actually gasping, I thought the show was actually good.Katherine Zeta Jones played a different role than I've ever seen her play before. Jude Law was fantastic and Channing Tatum looked good and his wife had a great role.
Depression is a horrible sickness and at first I thought I don't want to see this but I really did enjoy the final outcome and glad we went.

I am telling you now that this movie will be on my top 10 movies of the year. This movie is incredible. This whole review I’m basically just going to praise this movie so yeah if you were wondering if I liked this movie you should know from the title. I have no idea how Soderbergh does it but he makes a potentially very boring movie and makes it exciting as hell and I have loved every one of his movies so far. Rooney Mara is perfect in this movie and I can’t wait to see what she does next. Jude law is also very good and believable as a psychiatrist. Catherine zeta-Jones is fine . Channing Tatum has the smallest role and he’s good for the brief screen time he has. this movie has so many twists and turns it's really gripping and will ahve you on the edge of your seat. this movie is brilliantly shot and edited. I mean there were some shots it took me a second to realize what i was looking at so it's nice to see directors be risky and actaually try something new. i give SIDE EFFECTS a 10!

I did NOT like this film at all. The acting was below par with the exception of Jude Law....

surprisinglu successful at offering a completely unexpected ending-unexpected but legitimate
for the three main characters. excellent acting by newbie rooney mara and also by "stars" Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It was good to see Z-J playing a real part and not even trying to show off her beauty.

Steven Soderbergh gifts audiences exactly what they paid for: terrific acting, compelling script, enough twists, spins to cement one’s attention; thrilling, solid, earnest entertainment...
“Side Effects” references the healthy/debilitating effects of prescription medication; medication to ward off the black void of depression, derailment of normalcy; viewers, beyond the age of reason, recognize that we inhabit a pill-popping society; stroll the aisles of your local pharmacy, there are over-the-counter drugs for a myriad of ailments: insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, weight issues, head, back, joint pain; with the swipe of a credit card they can be yours; but a doctor has to prescribe the strong stuff; curing extremes: anxiety, self-destructiveness, catastrophic mood swings; the positive always imbued with the negative, aka “side effects”...
