Shrek Forever After movie review
I used to wonder why most movie franchises end with a 3rd, and with 'Shrek Forever After', I guess my question was answered...Don't get me wrong, Shrek wasn't the worst or anything, but its just that it was nowhere near the wit and charm that the series used to so wonderfully capture. In fact, the entire movie got only about 3 chuckles out of me. Other than 'Gingy' y' the Gladiator, there were no other 'hilarious' worldly references that I could see, and the humor too seemed at its lowest ebb. Much like Shrek had to realize that his ogre days are behind him, Hollywood should have to realize when a franchise has made its bow. All in all, Shrek is just passable, and I only rate it 3 stars rather than 2 and a half because as Puss in Boots and Donkey would say,"The movie may have been Ri'donk'ulous, but hell...It wasn't a total 'Cat'astrophe..." Guess I'm simply too fond of the series as such.
