Slightly better than the 1st one

I wasn't a fan of the first Sherlock Holmes movie starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. I found it too dumb and focused on action for my tastes. It's not that I don't like action but Sherlock Holmes is supposed to be super-smart and the previous movie might as well have been a Jean Claude Van-Damme movie for all that Sherlock Holmes used his brain. I found this one a slight improvement, mainly because the scenes between Holmes and Moriarty make up for the film's other flaws--particularly the very poorly directed action scenes which are high on gimmicks and low on actual excitement. In the action scenes department this does not compare favorably with Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, to put it mildly. But it does function passably well as a Sherlock Holmes movie (unlike the first one) and is worth seeing once.

The movie was great. Just as good as the first one. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are an awesome duo. It is a greatly entertaining movie. This is a must see during the holiday season.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

This is a MUST SEE in the theatre....don't wait for it to come out in video! There is too much action and too many subtle things such as facial features and clues that would be missed on the small screen. We didn't think they could do any better than the first film but it far surpassed our expectations. DON'T MISS THIS ONE! Even if you are not a Sherlock Holmes fan, like me, you will love this!

Downey is divine as the irrascible and looney Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law the faithful but fitful compatriot. First and foremost this is a buddy movie. Two men truly in love with each other as best buds and brothers. Holmes makes Watson totally crazy but the love keeps them together. Secondly, Moriarity is brilliantly played at the iconic sociopath and a true match for Holmes is great to watch. Lots of action. Lots of droll, sarcastic humor (where would you rather be Watson, on your honeymoon or here at a munitions factory fighting the bad guys?) You also meet Sherlock's arrogant brother with his own quirks, and watch Watson's wife come into her own.A little too violent for the small kids but otherwise a great romp. Finally a sequel that's good.
