Great action sequences interspersed with cerebral character exploration and cunning strategies. I was very entertained and surprised at how well it all came together at the end.

Great Entertainment

I am used to the brainiac Sherlock not the physical one. BUT, I think they pulled it off quite well with balancing the two. Jude Law was a great Dr. Watson and Robert Downey Jr. was a great Sherlock. Story line was excellent and easy to follow. Now, I must see the first one with RDJ. Go see it! I would not take kids under 13 to see it.

Mixed Thoughts

I was highly anticipating this movie, but am left with mixed emotions. I felt that it was a well told story, wonderfully acted, and the action sequences were absolutely amazing. But I felt as if something was lacking. I was such a fan of the first one, and although the second is very good, it feel as if I was somehow let down.

It was feeling a little slow about 2/3 of the way in, but the ending definitely made the movie. Don't waste your time staying through all the credits, there wasn't a teaser at the end.

Sherlock Holmes meets Mission Impossible

Good movie, but far more action and violence than I would expect from a Sherlock Holmes movie. Actually it wasn't much of a Sherlock Holmes movie at all. Rather more Mission Impossible done as a period piece. Still quite good. Great acting from the men. Could have done with a couple less slow motion fight scenes. Definitely worth seeing. Just adjust expectations.
