I enjoyed it. It was good - entertaining, suspenseful, crowd pleaser, fun characters, nice cinematography and based on a true story. It was definitely worth seeing. I think most age groups would appreciate it. You don't have to know that much about horses to appreciate it. Yes, it is another horse movie but it is well done and exciting.

OMG. Took my granddaughter and I was around when the real horse won the triple crown but never knew the background. The movie brought tears of joy and anxiety and surprise even though I knew the outcome. Really a must see!

A very good story, if not overly syrupy (this is a Disney movie). The writing and acting were strong by all and if not for the last 2-5 minutes of the movie, I would be all in with a "Must GO!" rating. HOWEVER, at the very end, right when you should be on the edge of your seat, heart pounding, emotion welling up in your belly, out of nowhere comes... "OH HAPPY DAY"... the gospel song. I don't have any idea who in their right mind signed off on it, but it was one of the worst song placements in movie history. The thing that hurt so much was the setup for a terrific ending was actually in place. The separation from the other horses, camera focused on the home stretch as the great and powerful Secretariat powered around the corner.. alone. Then Boom.. the bottom fell out of the entire move. Some may ask why that song in that moment could matter so much. You just watched 1 hour and 53 min. of build up to the most special moment in horse racing history only to be ruined by the wrong music.
