Typical slap stick comedy. If you like that kind of movie then you'll be ok. My mistake was watching it at 10:50 pm with a headache. My friend was having a hard time staying up and she normally enjoys these kinds of simpleton shows.

Yes, it could have been worse, but yes it could have been better...maybe, this franchise ran it's course probably half way through the first movie, or at the very least after the second movie. Charlie Sheen was decently funny, but other than that this movie has no real saving grace other than a funny joke here and there. I will never see this movie again, that is for sure.

I read a bunch of awful reviews about Scary Movie 5 so I was worried cause I love all the Scary Movies and I was on my way to see it with friends. The movie was really hilarious; there was some parts where they tried to be funny but overall a good great comedy. Hopefully there will be Scary Movie 6. There was also some scenes that made me and my friends uncomfortable but we laughed a lot more than we expected. Don't listen to negatives and stick with the positives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) Stay tuned after the credits are done rolling there is a after scene that all the people I saw it missed. Not giving it away but its surprising and very funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the fifth in the series that spoofs other movies , in this case , mostly horror films . Ashley and Simon are a married couple that take in their nieces [like in Mama] . Simon works at an ape research facility [like in Rise of the Planet of the Apes] while Ashley is an aspiring ballerina [like in Black Swan] . Terry is Simon's boss and Erica is a friend of Ashley . There are lots of short scenes , all loosely connected to the main story [with different spoofs on Paranormal Activity , Evil Dead , etc.] . There is a spoof of Inception where the actor playing Leonardo DiCaprio really looks like him . There are other cameos of recognizable stars and there is a scene after the credits involving one of them . The laughs were about 70/30 as far as making me laugh [70% funny to 30% dumb] .
It's rated "PG-13" for violence , sexual content [partial nudity] , language and drug material and has a running time of 1 hour & 25 minutes .
I enjoyed it enough to buy it on DVD .

I had watched all of the other Scary Movies, they were all fun and all of them made me laugh a lot, but this one... I was bored through the entire movie and most of the times and the "funny" parts only made me push air through my nose.
