A Marathon of Laughs
Run Fatboy Run was possibly one of the best comedies I have seen in quite a while. However, many people who I know have seen it, were let down. I think that it was all a matter of expectation. I was not expecting to get much out of the movie, but then it exceeded my expectations. My friends had expected something incredibly hilarious and over the top. The film, needless to say, did not live up to those expectations. I liked it most because it had a focus on the moral of the story and was not 100% focused on the humor, like most of Simon Pegg's other films. The story tells us that no matter how screwed up we are, we can change dramatically if we work hard enough to get there. There is an emphasis on that part of it that appealed to me. I do not necessarily want to say, "Go expecting something terrible so that it will exceed your expectations," but I would say, "Go expecting a good film and not just a long marathon of laughs."
