A Rather Stupid Search for Meaning

Look, Stan Kubrick sold movies. Some of what he made was not worth our money or our heartbeats. This analysis of a valueless movie production (among others, like Clockwork or Jacket), is in keeping with that. Tried to watch it today in a big theater with only two other individual attendees. When we left, I couldn't believe they stayed. They didn't stay either, it turned out, and they had a lot to say to us outside as to how critics could have possibly rated this as a 'must go.' Please be selective. Critics can be full of themselves. ak

Not As Interesting As You Might Expect

My girlfriend and I love "The Shining", but not as much as some, who are obsessed or see it as a vehicle to support completely unrelated views (faked Apollo moon-landing video, by Kubrick). There is ZERO discussion with people involved in the making of "The Shining". All the subjects of this documentary are just fans who each saw something different. There are some very compelling arguments, and some less so, but (aside from the physical/tangible tricks Kubrick played) it's all conjecture.

A little crazy, but interesting

I'm a little concerned at the mind sets of the people interviewed in this documentary considering their ideas where way past far fetched. I think I may have gone a little crazy from listening to all of the theories but it helped me to not be as scared for when I saw the Shining and was interesting to see other theories. If you are a Shining super fan, I say go, if not, it depends
