Phenomenal! This is a must see movie for all ages for the ages. Brilliantly produced, directed and acted, this epic version of William Shakespeare's tale of binding love, blinding hatred and bewildering circumstance kept me on the edge of my seat hoping against hope that Juliet would find other than woe with her dear Romeo. Alas, I ended my evening in tears as my sanguineness was squelched by the pen of Shakespeare himself. Brilliant, truly brilliant.

It's a great movie and I will watch it again. The dialogue is really accessible and it makes you appreciate the story even more. I immediately fell in love with Douglas Booth/Romeo and I loved Hailee. She's innocent and real. The rest of the cast is fantastic: Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, all the boys and the nurse. Secondary characters like Benvolio or Mercutio have a strong role. Cinematography and directing is also great. The setting is amazing, action is good... Just go and enjoy!

Movie was very well directed. Costumes were beautiful. Juliet and Romeo had marvelous chemistry and really made the story come to life again, since the 1968 version. I will definitely buy this movie and watch it over and over again. I think this movie is for teenagers and adults, unless one has a very mature child, in order for the circumstance to really touch the person. I left the theater with misty eyes. All in all a very good movie with very talented actors, with a beautiful setting.

I went to this movie expecting it to be cheesy and another modern remake with mediocre but popular actors with more focus on the violent and sexual aspects of the play. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was nothing of the sort. This may be my favorite rendition of Romeo and Juliet yet. The actors were absolutely fantastic in their roles and the focus was definitely on the language and tragedy of the story. I have read the play numerous times and studied it in a Shakespeare class and seen it performed live several times as well. As far as movie versions go, it was fantastic and I felt that it really captured some of the most pivotal moments of language from the original play. Job well done, and I WILL be buying the movie when it comes out on DVD. Parents who are concerned about explicit scenes, there is a bed scene after their marriage, but it doesn't show any nudity.
