I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.. This was the first time I had seen Joel Kinnaman as a lead actor in a movie; he did an exceptional job. The movie kept my attention through the end. I can't wait to see the next sequel. Samuel L. Jackson's role as the news anchorman was great; however, I did not like they style of his hair at all. I would recommend on toning that down.
Gary Oldman and Abbie Cornish were also great supporting actors. It will be good to see them in the next sequal.
I would not recommend this movie to children under the age of 10 because it has alot of violence, and there is a scene at the beginning that is very close to being an R rated scene.

I was expecting either:
- a reboot (a la Star Trek)
- a true remake (where is the part about Murphy electrocuting himself to erase the directives? where are even the directives showing in the movie, which was a central point in the first story?)
- a totally different story
This movie is none of that... It navigates in between the two first options, adding some new stuff (Omnicorp? It's OCP (even if it is the same company) and sticking to the original story).
In my heart, even with less special effects, the original RoboCop is still better...

Ironically, the original Robocop was on TNT last night just after seeing the new version. When I left the theater, I would have given the new Robocop movie at 7/10 and said to GO. However, after watching the original, I would suggest renting the original for 2 bucks. More action, better dialog, way better soundtrack and most importantly, much more heart. I love Joel Kinnaman, the new Robocop. If you havent watched the TV show, The Killing, I highly recommend it. It is a much better role to showcase Kinnaman's talents.

For a remake of the original, I don't think it strayed too far off from the original story. Of course some creative tweaks were made for the movie but overall I enjoyed watching this. Robocop still has his half human half machine larger than life presence on screen. I wasn't dissapointed.

Not as bad as I had expected it to be. HUGE fan of the original, this did not compare. How could it with a pg13 rating. It has to be taken as a reboot or re-imagining, whatever you want to call it. Either way it actually was better than Robo2, and the horrendous Robo3.
