Terrific animation in service to wonderful storytelling
CGI Animation has come such a long way in only a few years, and this is the kind of movie that could only be done with it. It is aimed squarely at the under 12 set, which leaves the dialogue somewhat lacking for adults, but the storytelling is wonderful.
The character development is good, especially for the central character, Jack Frost, and for Bunny, definitely a counter-intuitive contrast. As my son, a design major, commented, the graphic design of the sets and backgrounds is remarkably good, feeling fully integrated into the story and very satisfying.
Definitely worth seeing, in spite of the slightly sticky sentimentality in it. The voice acting is fabulous, as is the integration between sound and images, and it is very entertaining and fun.
