    Enjoyable family Holiday movie

Rise of the Guardians is an above average family Holiday movie. Don't expect any greatness. It's just an above average, enjoyable movie to see with the family for which the kids will keep still for.

Terrific animation in service to wonderful storytelling

CGI Animation has come such a long way in only a few years, and this is the kind of movie that could only be done with it. It is aimed squarely at the under 12 set, which leaves the dialogue somewhat lacking for adults, but the storytelling is wonderful.

The character development is good, especially for the central character, Jack Frost, and for Bunny, definitely a counter-intuitive contrast. As my son, a design major, commented, the graphic design of the sets and backgrounds is remarkably good, feeling fully integrated into the story and very satisfying.

Definitely worth seeing, in spite of the slightly sticky sentimentality in it. The voice acting is fabulous, as is the integration between sound and images, and it is very entertaining and fun.

I came for Jack Frost and stayed for the beauty of the film (and Jack Frost! lol)

I just saw Rise of the Guardians with my friend Taylor (We saw the first showing of the day. We got there 45 minutes before the theater was even open so we could get good seats. lol. the dedication of fangirls. but it was worth it)! Fisrt off, OHMYGODJACKFROSTCDSNKVDASAHHHHEEEENDSKN!!!!!! Second, the movie was so good! I want to go watch it again right now. It was extremely visually stunning and the story line was cool/cute. Third, funny story; when we got there we asked for "two tickets to......... Rise of the Guardians! that's it!" (we were about to ask the guy for two tickets to Jack Frost. ahahahaha. cause that's who we've been obsessing over for the last month. we could not remember the name of the movie to save our lives. i had to look up at the movie listing behind the counter.) Finally, JACK FROST!!!!!! O. M. G!!!! He is stuck in my head! I love that boy! lol. (Fangirling over here). I BELIEVE! Anyways, I think this is a great movie for all ages and that you should go see it!!

    Rise of the Guardians

I took my Grandson to see this movie Saturday night, and if the truth to be told, I am in many ways just a kid myself. We both thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and it was clean enough that I did not have to worry about my 7 year old Grandson seeing or hearing something crude or otherwise. As to the story, it was very well done, plenty of action to keep you awake and also mixed with enough humor to make you laugh at just the right times. The movie was not too long, so young people will not get bored, but long enough to create a story-line, and develop to a nice finish, and best of all, the good guys win in the end. I would definitely say that this movie is a winner, and probably good for ages 5 - 99, which is a nice relief from some of what I have seen that is not worth the price of a ticket. As to the "critics" out there who think they know best, I say if the child you take to see a movie is thoroughly entertained, then usually a child's movie is a success.

Took my grand daughter and she said it was the best movie ever, she is 4. She rooted for Jack Frost the whole movie. It is a great movie for the holidays

Fun movie for the whole family

    by

Something for everyone, these unorthodox reimaginings of childhood characters remind adults of the importance of innocence, wonder, and hope, while entertaining kids (even teens!) with beautifully presented animation and many hysterical and unexpected moments. There are a couple "darker" moments that may scare some 5 and under, but they're not out of place for a children's movie -- acknowledging childhood fears and coming to a conclusion that empowers them.
