If your looking for a fun adventure that you can take the kids to (no matter their age) then this is a movie for you. If your looking for characters who figure out their deepest life meanings and go through great struggles to become a better person; well then why are you even thinking that before going to a children's film?
This movie was well done, clever and very original in the case of stereotypes of mystical characters. Overall it was just a fun time. It is visually beautiful, but not necessarily ground braking. The acting was not Oscar amazing, but then again its a kids film.
It's fun, its enjoyable, just go, have a good time, and believe. Besides whats not cooler then seeing Santa duel wield sabers as he flies around in a massive sled smacking down nightmares!

We went on the last day of Christmas break and I was very impressed with this movie that I expected to just be cute and funny. The story is well written (for a kids movie) and it had a good message without being preachy or making parents look stupid. My whole family enjoyed it, very well done!

This was a fun movie for kids, remained appropriate throughout, and and was moving for parents since it reminds us of the wonder of being a child and helps us remember to enjoy our kid's innocence for as long as it lasts,

I went into this with managed expectations, bringing two 11 year old boys (the kind who like when things blow up). I think we all liked it. It was cute and well done. Charming some of the time. Funny some of the time. I didn't think it was so scary, but saw friends afterwards with two young children (maybe 4 and 6) who said it was a little intense for their kids. It wasn't fabulous, but I enjoyed it.

Took my 5 and 3 y/o to this yesterday. Saw some reviews that the younger kids were scared of the Boogie Man, but my little one was fine. Great messages and beautiful movie.
