    Rise of the Guardians

Was a great take on some old tales. This is one that will keep the kids and the adults entertained. Fun and light most of the time, but some scenes will be frightening to small children. Would say 7 and over for best results of this movie.

    Great Movie

    by kdspugh

Very entertaining, the whole family enjoyed this movie. Some of the imagery might be a little scary for some younger kids, but should be OK for most.
I thought the story was great and had some positive messages.

Hope you go and see it, and enjoy the film as much as we did!

    My 12-year old LOVED IT!

Fun and exciting; a must see for kids of all age. This was a wonderful movie; especially during the holidays. I felt like a kid again watching it (a true believer) and my daughter absolutely enjoyed it.

    Much better than expected!

I wasn't expecting more than a feel-good, simple kids movie, but I felt like a six year old in DIsney World for the first time while watching it!
The characters are so masterfully designed, every little detail so meticulously perfect. It was a great plot, had in-depth characters that I normally wouldn't expect from a family movie, and great talent all around. Even though I'm practically broke, I'm going to fork over another 10 to go see it once more!

The best movie I've seen in a VERY long time!!!

    by

This was a beautiful movie with lovable characters, a fun and adventurous story line and a good message for viewers of all ages! I'm BEGGING Dreamworks to release this movie on DVD soon so I can watch it at home all the time, and I will not hesitate to watch it in theaters again! And to my fellow Jack Frost fangirls, if you love Jack Frost before seeing the movie you will fall even MORE in love with him AFTER seeing it! I know I did! Long story short, my new FAVORITE movie! :3

    believe in magic

    by

I can see our family watching it again just before the holidays to get us into the spirit. A gentle, fun and heartwarming tale of believing in magic.

    Surprising Good

I kinda thought that this was gong to be a kid movie since it was a cartoon and all, but if there were any little ones there, they would have likes seeing the characters, but they may not have understood the messages in the story. I definitely loved the voice actors. They did a pretty good job with expressing the emotions for all of the characters.

The story can touch a lot of people from those that are either going through a time in their life where they feel like they are a nobody or no one understands them or no one actually sees them for who they are or if they feel alone out there in the world or from a compassionate point of view of putting themselves in that position.

Overall, t was a pretty good movie. Favorite character was Sandman and Santa Claus. Who doesn't love Santa especially when he is Russian and he has tattoos on his forearms. LOL. I will be buying this movie when it comes on DVD or through iTunes

Entertained 6yr old girls and 11yr old boy

It takes a really good movie to keep young girls and an older boy entertained. By the end of the movie, the girls had been bouncing in their seats and the boy had been teary eyed. A huge win for all concerned. We will be going again soon and taking Grandma and Dad along.

The plot is not overly complicated and just scary enough to have emotional resonance. The script is nothing to celebrate, but the voice acting is excellent.

    :)

    Loved it.

Don't let the terrible marketing and nonsensical title keep you from seeing this movie. It's fun, funny, and sincere. May be a bit scary for the really little ones, but a great family flick.

Good movie for kids and adults

    by

I took my son to the movie and we both enjoyed. Nicely packaged story which ties up the story well. I would recommend it for the whole family

    Different Kinda Christmas Story

    by cmelo11

I took my kids to see this very reluctantly, the trailers for this movie did not make me want to go see this movie at all. However, I must say that even with a Austrian Easter Bunny & a Russian. Sword welding Santa it was a good story and my kids really enjoyed this.

    Fun and scary holiday fare

I wrapped up the 2012/13 holiday season by seeing Rise of the Guardians on the twelfth day of Christmas. I was not disappointed.

Rise of the Guardians is dark for a holiday tale. Most of the story takes place either at night, or underground. The antagonist, Pitch (wonderfully played by Jude Law), is out to destroy the faith of children in Santa, the Easter Bunny (not a kangaroo, as he assures us - despite the accent), the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman. Into this conflict comes our chosen hero, Jack Frost.

Jack Frost's back story is rather sad, and there are some scenes that could be very frightening to very small children (the Night Mares were especially creepy), but in the end, all that is good, with the help of believing children, prevails. The acting here is wonderful, with a nod to Alec Baldwin for his bruising Russian Santa, and all ends on a high note. Santa's elves provide some needed comic relief and the animation is enchanting. Three and a half out of five stars.

    Best holiday movie from Dreamworks!

Rise of The Guardians was a great movie! It had tons of humor, action, heart and adventure! I also loved the elves! They acted a lot like the minions in Despicable Me. Overall, this movie will get you to believe in the holiday spirit!

    Rise of the Guardians

    by

Go see this film. It will awaken the child in you. Be sure to sit in the house with a lot of kids.
Some darker elements might be too much for very young kids, so mommies and daddies don?t bring the toddlers. 5 & up.

The magic is so special. and you find yourself clapping and wanting to cheer out loud.

Great story, perfect time to come out, go see for yourself. Hope is something we create, and our fears can make them vanish.
