For a group ages 7 - 50+ years old to be able to make reference to the jokes as well as special effects - the movie effectively creates a fairy tale with a nod to the real world. Put our group in the":holiday spirit" - lovely family film

Went to see the movie with my family at Carmike. It was a late show and we had the theater almost to ourselves. However, the coziness and the fact that there was no crowd only enhanced our experience. The place is clean, the people friendly, the picture and sound excellent. The movie is appealing to all generations. We loved it and will definitely make sure to see it again. Teaches some good points about life worth values!

I really really liked this movie. It was more exciting than I thought it was going to be, and more bad***, too. The whimsical holiday stuff was nicely balanced with humor and action, to the point where nothing felt super forced. For a movie ABOUT the imagination and believing in magic, it never felt too hamfisted or underdeveloped.

I would say this is a Christmas movie but it takes place about two or three days before Easter. The movie is very well done and the kids loved it!

Sometimes lovely, but misses the mark emotionally

I really wonder why writing, which requires only a pencil and a piece of paper, seems to the the component most often neglected in film making. Everyone tries real hard to make it fun. It gets maudlin.
