Italian producer Luigi Rovere provided Federico Fellini with The White Sheik, the offbeat filmmaker's directorial debut. Rovere also produced Pietro Germi's earliest features. Rovere began as a carpenter. He broke into cinema in the late '30s when his shop was contracted to build sets for an upcoming feature at Fert Studios in Turin.
