More about suspense, less about action
Righteous Kill is an incredibly good movie, but it is probably not what a lot of people are expecting it to be. The trailer comes up, it is dark and suspenseful. The stars come up, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. There's a splash of blood and it's over. What do you expect? I expected one of the most b**a** movies ever! Lots of stylized violence and running around killing people. Actually, this movie completely driven by story, and not by the action sequences. It's a suspense thriller about a cop who takes the law into his own hands, and only his long-life partner can do anything to stop him. However, deep down the partner does not want to stop him, because of all the vermin he has taken care of. I love that story. Go see it expecting suspense, but not stylized action.
