Tara Reid Lives!

What a horrid movie! However, with the assistance of Mike, Kevin, and Bill, the pain was lessened as they lanced this cinematic boil. The whole live Rifftrax experience is definitely fun. They seem to get energized by the live audience. I'm highly tempted to go see them take on Godzilla in August.

This Movie Begged to be Riffed!

For those of you who don't know, Rifftrax features alumni from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 gang and having the chance to watch a movie in a real theater with their amazingly funny comments was a real treat. I can't remember when I laughed so consistently at a movie (except when I re-watched the MYST3000 version of Clonus last weekend - I'm a full-fledged fanatic - sad but true). Anyway, this movie is a combination of bad acting, terrible editing, and an implausible storyline (actually there wasn't really a storyline mainly a piecing together of scenes and plagiarism from a very famous shark movie). These elements combined to make this the perfect movie for Rifftrax. I'm looking forward to the next event - Godzilla!

Our friends from MST3K just get better and better with age - it was a riot to hear them Riff on a more recent movie and with current cultural references. I have never laughed that hard and for that long in my life. 2 straight hours! I was only glad the movie was over so I could catch my breath! Can't wait for the August Godzilla (the one with Matthew B.).

I purchased my tickets online for the event, got to skip over the typical lines in the kiosk and presented my text confirmation to the ticket taker. No paper! No printing! Nice. The music before the movie and the funny little factoids beforehand were highly entertaining. The movie itself was phenomenal; this was my second time watching a RiffTrax Live film. I was dying from laughter at the end of the movie. Very good! Keep them coming, boys!

This "enhanced" version of the film (with commentary from the original Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys) was hilarious! My wife and I loved the jibes, japes, and wisecracks; it was the same wonderful experience we used to get from Mystery Science Theater 3000, one of my favorite television memories. I know they are planning to do more...and I want to see them all. I also loved the fake "movie trivia" that started playing a half-hour before the broadcast. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves (hates?) bad movies being skewered as you watch/listen. A great time at the movies!
