Good, but not as good as their others

Had I not seen any other RiffTrax offerings, or never watched MST3K, I probably would have been convulsed with laughter. This one had its moments. The "spade" and Scooby-Doo comments had me in hysterics. NOTLD is still respected by many as a "classic" and not a "really bad movie," the latter being usually what the boys target. I had never seen NOTLD (bizarre, since I was a teen when that movie came out), because I thought it would be "too scary." Of course, it wasn't. There were enough of their standard on-target barbs, though, to keep the (full) theatre laughing. I don't know that it'd be suitable for little kids, but certainly the middle school set on up. MST3K was a mainstay of family life when my kids were growing up (and they continue to be MST3K/RiffTrax aficionados as adults). I saw the movie with a Romero devotee, and he went reluctantly, lest he see his hero besmirched and adulterated by riffing. He liked it. I'll never miss one of their shows!

Always worth it

I have been an MST3K dork since I was a little kid in Minnesota watching Joel and the 'Bots on Minnesota public television. They hold up so well and the live format is fantastic. Even if the riffs go flat or the film drags, the crowd at these live events is SO worth it. My people! Wearing "Rowsdower" shirts and letting their nerd flags fly! I kind of forgot how awful NOTLD was, as an actual film, and the riffs were well-deserved. Great time. Looking forward to the December show!

This was such a funny show and perfect for the week before Halloween. I love that the Rifftrax guys are doing more of these shows, and there will be another one in December! Fans of MST3K should really check out the Rifftrax website and go to one of these live shows. So much fun.

I was surprised by the sellout crowd which made for an even more enjoyable experience. They did a short film and some comedy before the actual NOTLD movie which was also an added bonus. Great comedy and good fun.

First Timer

It was my first time going to one of the RiffTrax events and I must say, I had a blast. It was great time, everyone in the theater was laughing and the riffs were hilarious all the way through. I found them funnier here than I did in most of the MST movies, so I will definitely be going to the next one!
