See it in IMAX only

Go for the IMAX presentation because there's nothing else to recommend. There's no plot, really no characterizations, nada. Good action and neat visuals abound, but that's all, folks.

Actually Pretty Good.

The movie was actually pretty good, but there where some issues like with all movies. First with the good. It felt a lot like watching the second one again. The movie just seemed to have the same atmosphere. Very full of action, didn't slow don't at all. But the bad. CG needed more work in post production. Some of the evens in the movie didn't get brought up making you think, "but what about..." It happens with all the movies and you just have to accept it. Overall great, go see it. 3D can be skipped to save you some money.

Seemed almost like a cartoon. Got corny at times. Vampires and Zombies are in but they seem not to take it seriously. Seemed to set up another but that will be cable for me.

A Whole 'Lotta Nonsense Goin' On

I've watched the Resident Evil film series from beginning to end, and I must say from the outset that you'll find no continuity issues of any kind with the timeline from then to now. What I can say is that the journey there has been nothing more than a Ferris wheel or merry-go-round of plot holes and unbelievabilities. The story that has gotten us here may be cinematically linear, but the reasons why these characters are doing what they're doing--especially in Retribution--make no sense. It's as if we are seeing these characters we've grown with in the videogame series only for name recognition and not for any kind of plot importance. Now, having no idea of the story line from the games since RE: Nemesis, I can't determine one way or the other if what we saw in Retribution is accurate to the game. All I know is I spent the entire movie trying to figure it out. Instead of enjoying it. Which was fine, because it was hard to do that anyway. Neither good nor bad, better to wait for DVD.

An awesome tribute to the game

Probably my favorite of the entire series, the latest installment of RE get's it right. From the action sequences, to the references to the game... the movie itself is just what I expected. Granted, it's not the pinnacle of cinema, but if you're a gamer and you liked the games this movie will definitely tickle you with constant references to the franchise. Funtimes.
