I just saw Resident Evil in 3D a little earlier today and I gotta say...I was impressed with the new characters from the video games, and with the bad*** chicks in the movie. However, the 3D is not necessary to enjoy the film because majority of the film is non-stop action scenes anyway. I liked the movie overall, but didn't love it for two reasons: Albert Wesker being somewhat of a protagonist and the big kaboom moment at the end. Although I thought the camera angles and CGI were outstanding, the fact that in the plot, Albert Wesker is the polar opposite of what he is in the games was not expected nor highly liked by me. I won't give anything away, but when you see the movie, you will know what I mean. As far as the big kaboom moment at the end of the film.....one word: cliffhanger. Ugh......but what can we do, it's Resident Evil franchise. Overall, I'd give this film a B- , and for obvious reasons from the content and trailers, this movie is for ages 17+.

This movie fell way short of the other movies. My wife thought the action scenes were good but the story was slow, lacking, and at times incoherent. I recommend waiting for it to show up on Netflix.

Probably the longest and most expensive advert for the corresponding video game, Retribution confirms that the series is out of ideas. Simply put, nothing new. 3D effects were unintentionally amusing, voice synch was off especially for the Ada character.
Let it live on in video games and other media, no more movies.

The fans ask for the movies to be more like the games, so this is what you get a big adaption of how someone would play around in the Resident Evil universe while lacking an actual story, but all in all it was a fun ride.

A little over the top on the plot, and action scenes are more contrived than those in the past, but they are unreal as usual. Of course there is the cliffhanger at the end so stay tuned for another in the series.
