I enjoyed the movie a lot. I was upset that I didn't actually get to see it on Broadway, but the movie was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was that the ending was kind of corny and pointless. The greatest part of the movie is the songs. I love them ALL!
When I saw this movie I felt like I was walking in on my parents having sex. I don't know why but it just seems like a movie more for the parental age group and by that I mean like late 40's early 50's. Even if you're of that age group, don't see this movie anyway because its horrible and isn't good no matter how old you are.
OUTSTANDING! A MUST see...
I am a Rent fan hard body. They call us Rent Heads. I seen the Hollywood version of this Broadway hit and then on my birthday i got to see ON BROADWAY before it closed a month later. I sat there and cried and laughed and loved it. Then they filmed it the last day and put it movie theaters for 4 days, I grabbed my tickets and the day of the movie I sat there and was excited. They filmed this hit Broadway play perfectly. People complained that sometimes you dont see the whole stage cause they zoom in on the actors faces. I felt that added to the emotion of the play. When Angel was dying on the table and they zoomed in on him and you see him crying it hit me so hard. It was amazing. My friend who never seen the play I took and he loved it. I am happy that this is coming to DVD on February 3rd 2009. Now when I have kids I can share this story of love, friends, and AIDS with them. Thank you Johnathan Larson for a great thing that I will cherish forever. NO DAY BUT TODAY...CRYING NOW..LOL
I understand "the buzz" that comes from NY and SF. I work in SF and live 30 minutes outside the golden gate bridge. However, the movie is a downer. We can get plenty of that without the expense of a movie ticket, now can't we?
