Annoying but Thought-Provoking
Bill Maher, in his annoying and amusing way, interviews people about religion. He mostly interviews religious folks and pokes fun at their belief. But in doing so, he exposes the contradictions in their belief. He says he is making a point, that unquestioned religious belief is doing more harm than good in the world. He has a point, of course, and he does manage to show that, to some extent but he ridicules many well-meaning people in the process. He could have made that point in other ways, without so much ridicule, but it seems that ridicule is what he does best. It's a movie worth seeing, if you want to think about the point he is making as well as the points he is NOT making - such as all the good that religion does as well.
