Nerd @ Heart

Yesterday, Last Night and Early this morning I was at the best movie marathon EVER! It was a 5 movie marathon. The movies shown, and in this order, were Ironman, Ironman 2, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers. I never really realized how much of a nerd I was until this event. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. When you see them all back to back like that it's a lot easier and exciting to catch all of the little connections to one another (i.e., Captain America's shield in Ironman 2, Hawkeye in Thor, Odin's treasure in Captain America). It really blew my mind. It was the best 12hrs I've ever, and will probably ever, spend in a chair. I might have to do this again once they all come out on DVD

It was truly great to be able to re-watch all the Marvel Movies, except The Incredible Hulk, prior to watching the Avengers. I was able to see all the things I loved about the other movies on the big screen again. I especially enjoyed seeing Thor in 3D since I had only watched it in 2D the first time around. The 3D in most of the Marvel movies is done the way I believe it should be. Its used to enhance depth and immersion rather than some cheap imagery of something flying at you from out of the screen. The Avenger was a great movie too. It was succinct and didn't introduce any new plot elements except those directly related to the movie and the heroes getting together and working as a team. Loki was an amazing bad guy for this movie as well. Pay particular attention whenever the Hulk is in the mix, he's the comedy relief and its glorious.
