Red Dawn

Such a realistic plot and a great action movie, that is Red Dawn. Amazing cast, with Chris Hemsworth and Josh Peck playing brillantly off each other, great chemistry, add break out newcomers that could very well be huge stars themselves like Peck and Connor Cruise. Josh Hutcherson picked a great movie to follow up The Hunger Games and has solidfied himself as an action star. This movie is for fans who like violence, and fans of the old verison but don't take my word for it, see it for yourselves.

Not What I Expected

This was kind of a silly movie. The plot was not really that developed or believable. The idea that the North Korean military could successfully invade & occupy most of the United States is ridiculous. I would really like to see the North Koreans try to invade a state like Texas lol The plot never explains how all these Korean military units got into the US - except saying that an EMP & nuclear missile launch disrupted the "entire" infrastructure. It came across as a "B" rated movie with so-so acting & "cheesy" lines. I suppose if you're not expecting a somewhat plausible plot, this movie wouldn't be too bad. I found myself laughing most of the time - which isn't necessarily a bad thing!

Surprisingly Good Remake

This was a good remake with new people and of course the action. I agree with a couple of other comments made. It was sort of a rush through the movie. It didn't give the viewer much time to get the players. Had a different ending than the original movie. Good acting and directing. I don't know if Red Dawn 2 could come about and start where it left off but it's possible. I think if I was a producer I would consider it. From this movie and the original a viewer should come out and even though this could never happen. Patriotism should be reenergized, which is something is sadly missing with most Americans.

Worth the money and the time

This is not your fathers Red Dawn. This is a lighter (in the character development arena) treatment of the same topic. More explosions, more fighting, more action. Kept true to some parts and then veered off in others. On its own, it was a good movie and for those looking to be entertained, it does just that. If you're looking for a deep movie, keep looking. I would recommend it though and I saw lots of families in the theater who seemed to enjoy the movie as much as I did. OK for younger kids as well -- not too bloody and of course they had to use the 1-time "F" word for the PG-13 rating, not necessary, but I guess it's like a that second helping of pumpkin pie. You don't have to do it, you shouldn't do it, but you do it anyway because you can.

Red Dawn, the remake.

I loved the original movie and own a copy of it but my wife was bored with it. This remake is soooooo much better! my wife even loved it. I love what they did with the story line. The only issue that I have with the movie is that it has way to much swearing in it. That wasn't needed to make this movie a good movie. Beware of the "F" word.
