See it again for the first time!

    by

I don't care how many times you've seen Raiders on TV (I've lost count), you haven't seen it until you see it on a big screen. I saw it last night at an American Cinematheque digital screening at the Egyptian in Hollywood, and it was glorious. Almost like seeing it for the first time. The casting, direction, stunts, music, etc. are perfect. Raiders stands as one of the finest examples of collaborative magic ever recorded. If you get a chance to see it in an actual theater, don't miss it.

The Greatest movie of all time

    by mrdiff

Spielberg --Lucas and Ford--all came together at the right moment in time to make this all-time classic action adventure masterpiece. The soundtrack by John Willams is great ---the actions pieces thrilling the direction brilliant. A true work of art

    Its indiana jones...

To experience the film on the big screen with all sorts of focus blow outs and film grain was surreal..I felt like It was 1981...too cool!!!

IF ADVENTURE HAS A NAME--IT MUST BE INDIANA JONES.

    by MCV

What can I say about this movie that hasn't been said? RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK is a classic of American film and one of Steven Spielberg's grand slams (with an assist from character creator and producer George Lucas.) Harrison Ford IS (capital letters) archaeologist and international explorer Indiana Jones, searching for the lost Ark of the Covenant, the golden vessel containing the crumbled remains of the Ten Commendments. Jones must get to the Ark before his chief rival, Rene Belloq, leads the Nazis right to it! Along the way, he picks up old flame Marion Ravenwood and a little monkey who is not what she seems. To call this a classic is an understatement. Intelligent, well-plotted character drama sprinkled across a heaping helping of some of the best action sequences ever put to film. It's been over 25 years and there's still not a movie that came after it that measures up.

Best Action Film Ever Made !!

This film continues to hold strong, even today, as the greatest action film ever made. Spielberg and Lucas' teamup helps put the film on top, but it's Harrison Ford's protrayal of the swashbuckling archaeologist Indiana Jones that have audiences screaming for more. That's why two more (and eventually a third) films were made in the saga. Karen Allen's role of the spitfire Marion Ravenwood fits Jones' persona well. They both gel well on screen. I was just a kid when "Raiders" came out in the theatres the first time, and I'm glad I got the see the film on the big screen. Even though the film quality was old and the music was spotty in places, that didn't stop me from enjoying this fantastic film!

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc

I thought the movie was awesome in good old fashioned Harrison Ford style. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes action and a younger, hunkier, Harrison Ford!

    When movies were good

    by JAS1414

Simply said movies used to be good - and this was one of the best, as far as I am concerned you could run classic movies like this a couple nights a week.
