This is your typical kill the monsters save the world. Not really sure what the artifact was except it was going to ruin Earth. The love story is minimal. Mostly it's shooting and chasing the monsters. There are a few really funny bits between Bridges and Reynolds. Basically it's and OK movie.

Lots of action & comedy. Bridges, Reynolds, and Bacon were all impeccable, as usual. I didn't rate it with more stars simply because it was too similar (in my mind) to Men In Black.

I really wanted to love this movie, but just couldn't get there. Ryan Reynolds did a good job, as did Jeff Bridges, but it just lacked something. Jeff's accent was also bothersome, it sounded like he had too much snuff in his cheek. The story line was weak and could have been strengthened by tying up some loose ends. Large parts of it were slow and stupid, several people left the theater while we watched. It was close to being good, but never got there. I also got the feeling a lot of the movie was left on the editing room floor.

Kevin Bacon is so "watchable!"...Watching him...was the best part of the movie!
A weak story line...and plot! Visuals...were good!
Bridges...whatever he was "chawing"...a distraction to his lines!

Skip this movie. even on DVD. Very disappointing. Took our 10 year old grandson to see it and quite frankly couldn't believe that Bridges and Reynolds, actors I love, took these roles, even for the money. Basically it was just a bunch of not so special effects....same ole same ole....lots of noise, goofy monsters and a story line that was lame, didn't make a lot of sense, not enjoyable, unpleasantly predictable, verses pleasantly predictable. We go to lots of G, PG, and PG 13 because of the grand kids and we are very forgiving and usually enjoy and find something redeemable about them. I give this one an F....wasn't anything interesting, fun, different, suspenseful, creative or engaging......or redeemable.
Skip this one, even on DVD....save your money! BTW, the grandson said he liked it OK. Probably a C. Hard for him to follow. Not like he liked Man of Steele, which we all really enjoyed A+
