A Hiigh-Quality Quartet!

What a rare pleasure these days: a fillm with first-rate acting, writing and direction, about actual people. The multi-generation gap between seniors and teenagers is played with complete respect for both - how often do we see that nowadays? The locale is a delight - I want to live in that house. And there's music everywhere, all the time. A first-rate chamber piece. Highly recommended.

A wonderful cast of actors (who doesn't love Maggie Smith) who do a beautiful job of reminding all that love is timeless. More than a couple laugh out loud moments,

Charming story well acted with great musical scenes. Verging on cliche'ed I felt it went for laughs when drama and poignancy would work. Cast was excellent. Well played. I normal enjoy Billy Connolly but this was not a good part for him. I wished that someone other than. he had been cast. Still a nice movie in spite of that. Pity the ending was rather like Billy Elliot, The location for the movie was perfect. A stately English Country home and landscape. Made we want to be there.

This is a very clever, visually stimulating, and artistically vibrant movie that charms and tickles you at the same time. Superb performances by a quartet of exceptionally talented actors, for me, clinches the "Best of 2013" nomination.
