We really enjoyed this movie. The music was great and so was the acting. The humor is subtle but very funny. It's never too late to turn over a new leaf. This is not for kids, not that there is anything objectionable, young kids just won't relate to the situation.

My wife and I are British (Scottish, actually) senior citizens, living in Albuquerque NM. Thus, we are very familiar with the main (senior citizen) stars, especially Billy Conolly who is about the same age as me. Brilliant directing by Dustin Hoffman. Marvellous plot, cast and script. I recommend this movie to all who appreciate British humour (note spelling!).

A tour de force for Maggie Smith. The acting was outstanding. Sets, wardrobe, perfect as backgrouind. A wrenching portrayal of a life in change at a time when one needs peace, quiet and stability. The results of this lady's choices turned out well.

The story, the acting and the flow were all excellent. I would highly recommend this movie to all age groups.

This is a beautiful piece--visually, musically, and in terms of the fine acting. The theatre was nearly full, and everyone laughed together. Deep laughs of recognition. I noticed quite a lot of gray hair around me, and perhaps this is a virtuoso piece for people of "a certain age."
The outcome is somewhat predictable--we all know that people get old and frail and eventually die. Less usual is the treatment of the parts of us that live until the end: our love of (in this case) music, and our love for each other.
The inclusion of actual, older musicians was a real treat.
