A Good Political Environmental Movie

Matt Damon does a great job at bringing a current political issue to the big screen. It is good that he can afford to get the word out. We need other people such as Damon and Ben Affleck to be our next John Lennon.

Promised Land and Environmental Disaster!

I don't usually write about movies I see but I was certainly moved by this movie to do so. My goodness, the writing was ok and even clever at times, but overall it was cliche, predictable and amateurish. The whole movie reminded me of a low-budget, poor-quality Christian movie that comes out every now and again. It was preachy. I'm a forward thinking, left-leaning liberal, but got so tired of its message. The characters lacked consistency. They were haphazard, depending on the need of the moment. blah

A movie about Integrity?

Yes, believe it or not. No monsters emerging from the earth, no creatures with magic powers. No. Just an honest and refreshing tale about a man who loses his job but saves his soul. Co-written by Matt Damon, who leads a fine cast of major (McDormand, Krasinski, Holbrook) and minor characters, it doesn't try to preach or be holier-than-thou. A tale of personal transformation which poses some big questions about our society, but doesn't pretend to have the answers. Those answers are left for the townspeople (and us) to wrestle with. Thanks, Matt Damon.
