This movie is one of the best dramatic performaces from Matt Damon, Frances Mcdormand, and John K, who is best known for being a comdian. I saw an episode of CSI based on the plot of the movie and it's really sad that Oil Companies do this. Everyone that was casted was believable in their roles, especially Hal Holbrook. This movie is for anyone who wants to see a great dramatic movie but don't take my word for it, see it for yourselves.

It was a "nice" movie, no violence, no sex. Storyline was what attracted me to the movie, but I was disappointed in the movie itself. Slow to develop, characters were predictable. I wish I had waited until it came out on DVD - wasn't worth the money spent.

I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing a good movie. Story was slow. My whole family lost interest within the first 30 minutes. I would recommend it as a $1.00 Red Box rental.

Not only is the subject matter right in my wheelhouse, Damon et al bring the lies and distortion right into my backyard. Quite literally.
Oh, and did I mention that the film was partly funded by a state-owned media company in the United Arab Emirates?
Let the fact checking begin. Please let it begin!

I don't usually write about movies I see but I was certainly moved by this movie to do so.
My goodness, the writing was ok and even clever at times, but overall it was cliche, predictable and amateurish. The whole movie reminded me of a low-budget, poor-quality Christian movie that comes out every now and again.
It was preachy. I'm a forward thinking, left-leaning liberal, but got so tired of its message.
The characters lacked consistency. They were haphazard, depending on the need of the moment.
